Due to the many requests we had from different customers and dealers for off-road shocks, Intrax decided to develop an off-road line.
Epic off-road shocks
This newly developed line is called the EPIC shock, this name immediately makes our intentions concerning quality and handling clear.
The EPIC shock is built with our well known quality parts and innovative techniques but just a bit bigger so it can cope even better with the very hard off-road abuse.
For instance the reservoir has a diameter of 78mm and has large cooling fins to make sure that the oil, which is pushed around by the 52mm piston, doesnt overhead. Of course our highly recommended Black Titan coating which keeps the temperature also down due to the low friction can be fitted, the Black Titan is also a very good protector for the spindle due to the unprecedented hardness. The inevitable temperature fluctuations will be compensated by our standard equipped, unsurpassed thermostat. The EPIC shock is also standard equipped with our revolutionary off-road version of our ARC® system, our ICCÂ’® system which stands for Intelligent Cornering Control.
After a developing period we had a testing period in our factory and on some cars and the shocks are approved by the technical and ready for competition abuse.
4-way adjustable shocks
The first EPIC4 system (the 4 stands for 4-way adjustable) is fitted on a NK off-road participants car. So we have our competition use feed-back from an independent driver very soon. Of course they already did some testing and there were smiles all around because of the big improvement of the cars performance due to the much higher speeds they could maintain on the rough tracks.
We soon have EPIC shocks ready for other off-road vehicles which will be used in International competitions very soon. We keep you posted about the developments.
Guino Kenis made a terrific start with his Intrax 1K2 Black Titan ARC® equipped BMW 2002 in the Legend Boucles de Spa.
Although Guino and his navigator, Claude Debue, didn’t had any testing with this newly build classic car they performed very well.
A 9th place overall and a 5th place in their class in this heavily occupied rally. They even had a scratch time at the secret gravel stage of Mandarine.
If you want to experience one of the Dutch or Belgium tracks in a relaxed but professional atmosphere GP-Elite trackdays are the ones to visit.
GP-Elite has the best instructors, the lowest limit of cars (so always space to drive your own speed) and has everything managed to perfection. You will have the time of your live on one of the Dutch or Belgium circuits on these trackdays.
Intrax collaborated with them and will be present at each trackday to advice the drivers about the setup of their cars (also for the non Intrax shocks drivers of course). So when you visit one of the GP-Elite trackdays and you have set-up questions, just ask the Intrax advisor.
The Autosport International at Birmingham has been a big success for Intrax.

Intrax will be present at the Autosport International at Birmingham (England) 2015.
Unlike previous years where we had our stand in the Engineering hall we will be present at the big hall at stand number 6260 together with Radical from the 8th till the 11th of January.

The RaceArt team of Roger Grouwels, managed by Marwin Moonen , have delivered a performance of world class. With their brand new car, a Viper GT3-R, they won the most competitive class in the BeNeLux, the Super GT class in the Supercar Challenge.
RaceArt had a flying start with their Viper GT3-R with three podium places in the first two weekends. One of them was the first place on the Nurburgring in the first race.
For the team it was no reason For the team that was no reason to relax their efforts, they wanted to improve because the competition was very hard. The “factory†Ferrari GT2 driven by Lanting and Herben were very consistent and fast. While the two Volvo silhouettes V8 cars were driven by two youngsters who squeezed every hundredth of a second out of the car were also very fast.
One of the things the team did was to contact Intrax to develop a set of 4-way shock including Black Titan and ARC®. Intrax had three weeks time to develop these shocks before they had to drive the next race. The shocks were designed and tested on the rig within these three weeks. The first race on the new shocks in Assen was promising with a 2nd and 4th place. Ambitious as the team is they directly planned a test day at Francorchamps together with Jaap van Lagen en Roger Grouwels to dot the i’s and cross the t’s.
The hard work of the RaceArt team was rewarded with a pole position and first place (despite a 10 second penalty) in their first race of the final weekend. This score clinched the hard-fought Super GT championship in the Supercar Challenge.

In the Supercar Challange Dennis de Borst and Martin de Kleijn clinched the Championship in the Sport 1 division with their optimal prepared Renault Clio RS. The car is equipped with the Intrax 4-way Black Titan ARC® shocks. In the winter before the 2014 season a lot was changed on the car so a test with Dennis, Martin and Jaap van Lagen was planned before the season. A optimal balance was found during the test days which allowed Jan van Vliet and Danny Stam (the engineers) to work with very small adjustments to adjust the car for the different circuits and circumstances at hand. Thanks to the team work within the FEBO team and the perfectly matched components on the car they were able to win the Championship despite some setbacks.
