We provided this beautiful Mercedes W107 450 SLC with shock absorbers and spring designed to participate in the Winter Trial.

The Winter Trial is a six day regularity rally for classic cars which takes place in the winter.
The shocks and springs are designed to cope with the pot holes in tarmac roads and of course the snowy roads. With that we took in account that this rally is a 6 days event and the driver and co-pilot don’t want to be shaken and/or stirred at the finish.

With the development of the springs and shocks we haven taken the extra equipment and the weight into account, which must be taken for such a long rally. The car remains comfortable and sporty to drive even when heavily loaded.

Perfect for long rides on snowy roads!

The LCC (Light Car company) build one of the most iconic street legal cars, the Rocket. This street legal race car which could fit 2 people, sitting behind each other, was the first car equipped with a motor bike engine. The performance of this car was breathtaking like the handling of the car. This wasn’t a surprise because the car was designed by legends Gordon Murray and Chris Craft. Only 45 or 56 Rockets were produced (internet is inconclusive about the number) but clearly made its mark in car history.

We designed 35% lighter shocks for this car (you wouldn’t think this would be possible taking the name of the factory into account ☺) and improved even more on the handling but keeping the characteristics of the original car in mind. We even kept the original springs for this.

You also have something different to others, we can always make something for you.

Like a lot of other classic car/ young timers the car is technical capable to use as a daily but the handling is still “old fashioned”. At the same time you don’t want to destroy the feeling of driving a classic car. Intrax can gradually be called a specialist for classic cars. We are able to give the car, in this case the Aston Martin V8, a stable handling (much safer) without taking out the Gran Turismo feeling and over stressing the chassis. Not less important we also build the system in a way that no adjustments on the chassis and or the suspension has to be made, enabling the return of the original shocks (for an auction or something) without traces of the Intrax shocks. Two cars from a completely different era will get the same treatment at Intrax. The owner of the Mercedes gave us clear assignment, “the car must have more comfort but don’t make any compromise on the handling of the car”. The owner of the Aston Martin asked us, “can you improve the handling of the car but keep it comfortable?”.

The final results must be the same, the only thing is that the modern car is too harsh and the classic car is much too soft. What not a lot of people know is that Intrax developed systems to solve exactly these problems without making the car uncomfortable (in case of the Mercedes we will improve dramatically on comfort) while improving the handling (yes, also the Mercedes and of course the handling of the Aston Martin).
