A big thank you to Intrax Suspension Technology. This project on my Alfa Romeo 147 GTA would most likely not have been possible in this form without Intrax.
This was not about installing an off-the-shelf suspension kit. The goal was a very specific setup with a clear motorsport / cup car orientation, based on a historic racing specification for this car. To achieve this, parts had to be scanned, modified, newly manufactured and changed several times during the project.
Even though my direct contact was always through Sebastian from Rennhärte, it is very clear to me that Intrax played a major role in making this whole project possible. There were multiple iterations, changes and improvements, and from what I experienced, there was always a willingness to find a technical solution rather than just sticking to standard parts.
Of course, a project like this is not cheap, and that’s obvious. But when you see how much development work, custom manufacturing and technical effort went into this suspension, you understand where the cost comes from. This was not a catalog product – this was a suspension system that was developed and adapted for a very specific application.
I was able to test the car on track recently, in very cold conditions and partly wet track, and the difference is very noticeable. The car is now much more precise, better balanced and gives a lot more confidence at the limit. Exactly what you want from a proper track-focused setup.
For me, this project clearly shows that Intrax is not just selling suspension kits, but is also capable of supporting and developing individual, motorsport-oriented solutions when needed. That level of support and technical openness is something you don’t see very often anymore.
