With their Datsun 240Z with Intrax shocks, the Dutch team Herman van Oldenmark \/ Fred Hak achieved an unprecedented result in the famous Monte-Carlo Rallye. In a field of 328 participants, they drove to 34th place overall. Moreover, they achieved victory in their class, with corresponding corridor to the staircase and two beautiful cups.<\/p>\n
After the start in Glasgow on January 27 followed a war of attrition, with two days and nights without sleep. After this initial route, they began on January 30 from Monte Carlo to the real thing. Three days of concentrated drive and the stages within the prescribed time travel. This involves the tenths of seconds! All tests were plotted on winding mountain roads, with occasional snow and ice as an additional handicap.<\/p>\n
The rally was the night of 2 February 3 ended with three tests in the mountains above Monaco, which includes the legendary Col de Turini. The roads were extremely slippery by the thousand headed strong audience, which caused additional spectacle. Herman, Fred and the Datsun felt supported by the quick service car containing Hilversummers Sweder Stachouwer and Younus Zuidema and the service team of Bas Auto Service, but then right at home. Met hun Datsun 240Z voorzien van Intrax schokdempers heeft de Nederlandse equipe Herman van Oldenmark\/Fred Hak een ongekend resultaat behaald in de befaamde Rallye van Monte-Carlo. In een veld van 328 deelnemers reden zij naar de 34e plaats in het algemeen klassement. Bovendien behaalden ze de overwinning in hun klasse, met de daarbij behorende gang naar het erepodium en twee fraaie bekers.<\/p>\n
Na de start in Glasgow op 27 januari volgde een uitputtingsslag, met twee dagen en nachten zonder slaap. Na deze aanlooproute begonnen zij op 30 januari vanuit Monte-Carlo aan het echte werk. Drie dagen geconcentreerd rijden en de klassementsproeven binnen de voorgeschreven tijd afleggen. Daarbij gaat het om tienden van seconden! Alle proeven waren uitgezet op bochtige bergweggetjes, met hier en daar sneeuw en ijs als extra handicap. <\/p>\n

Herman, Fred en de Datsun voelden zich, ondersteund door de snelle serviceauto met daarin Hilversummers Sweder Stachouwer en Younus Zuidema en het serviceteam van Bas Auto Service, daarop echter prima thuis.
